Christian Formation is:

• Christ-centered and spirit-filled.
• Wholistic and lifelong.
• Sharing our experiences, traditions, gifts and faith.
• Development of individual formation in reciprocal relationship with community formation.
• Process that encourages discipleship and bears good fruit.
• Taking appropriate risks to enable growth.

The Christian Formation Commission was formed this past year by the merger of the former Christian Education and Youth Commissions. The term Christian Formation is increasingly used as a broader description of what has been traditionally called education, encompassing all the ways in which we are formed as Christians. The Commission's four committees:

• District/Parish Connection
• Discipleship
• Higher Education/Young Adult
• Confirmation
• Communication

Our Diocesan staff members Kaileen Alston, Youth Missioner, and Kitty Kawecki, Bishop Anand Resource Center Director, will be working to support those engaged in this vital ministry in our congregations. Our commission chair is the Rev. Ronnie T. Stout-Kopp.
